Describing Application Software

1. The application software I use regularly is Mozilla Firefox. It's function is sort of like Internet Explorer. It is a browser for helping you find information over the internet.

2. The advantages to using Mozilla Firefox are that:
     A. It has a built in firewall to help protect you from viruses.
     B. It helps you find information over the internet.
     C. Just like Internet Explorer, it's free.

3. I think other students in the class should use Mozilla Firefox, because even though it may be like Internet Explorer it has it's own firewall built into it. If you go onto Internet Explorer you can end up on a website with an encrpyted virus. It happened once to me. Someone had put a virus inside an ad, and whenever you went onto the World of Warcraft website you would end up with the copy cat virus (A virus that whenever something that is infected with it is deleted, it will copy itself and give you more). Internet Explorer doesn't help protect you from this. Although you may be saying you have a Virus protecting software such as Norton, it is always good to have extra. It doesn't cost you anything for Mozilla, you just go to the website and download it. I use it regularly instead of Internet Explorer.
